North India Study Tour

The third-year students of GITAM School of Architecture recently embarked on an enriching academic study tour from 17th February -3rd March 2025 across North India, accompanied by Assistant Professor Akankshya Priyadarsini. The tour took them through the historic cities of Agra, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Delhi, offering an immersive exploration of India’s architectural legacy. Students from both the Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad campuses participated in this remarkable journey, gaining invaluable insights into the country's rich architectural heritage.

The carefully curated itinerary included a visit to the Aayojan School of Architecture in Jaipur, where students engaged in an academic exchange, fostering collaboration and cross-institutional learning. A key highlight of the tour was the visit to the Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls School in Jaisalmer, a pioneering example of sustainable architecture. Designed with the goal of empowering local girls through education, the school stands as a testament to the transformative power of thoughtful, environmentally conscious design.

This study tour provided students with a profound understanding of both traditional and contemporary architectural practices, offering them a holistic educational experience that bridges the past with the future. The journey not only enhanced their academic knowledge but also deepened their appreciation for the role of architecture in shaping communities and cultures.
