As GSA celebrated World Architecture Day from October 7th to 9th, 2024, students immersed themselves in various activities designed to inspire and engage. The event commenced with the panel discussion on "Compassionate Architecture," featuring esteemed architect Kavya Poornima, who captivated attendees with her insights. GSA students actively participated, contributing to lively talks highlighting the intersection of architecture and human well-being. The first day also featured a screening organized by the Film and Literary Society (FALS) and concluded with a dynamic cultural program showcasing the students' talents.
Day two was marked by the Rapid Studio design challenge, titled the "Rising Heat Challenge," where students were challenged to devise innovative urban shelter solutions for the underprivileged, reflecting their dedication to social responsibility. The celebration wrapped up on the third day with a heritage walk through the historic core of Visakhapatnam and Bheemunipatnam, in collaboration with INTACH, allowing participants to connect with the rich architectural heritage of Visakhapatnam.
