ABOUT TOPIC:  Humans navigate using two mental strategies: egocentric (body-based) and allocentric (map-like) spatial representations. These are developed through movement, memory, and sensory input. With increasing reliance on smartphone navigation, we must ask: Are we enhancing or diminishing our innate spatial abilities? How do multi-sensory experiences influence wayfinding and cognitive mapping today?
