Tyranny of Small Decisions – Deliberations on Ecological Architecture

GITAM School of Architecture recently hosted an inspiring session on _Tyranny of Small Decisions_ by Ar. Chitra Vishwanath of Biome Solutions, Bengaluru . She shed light on how seemingly minor architectural choices can have profound environmental consequences, leading to unsustainable urban growth, excessive resource consumption, and ecological imbalance.

Challenging this fragmented approach, she advocated for holistic, ecological architecture - demonstrating through her projects how local materials, passive cooling, and rainwater harvesting can shape self-sustaining, climate-responsive spaces.

The session extended into a workshop of deliberations with 2nd to 4th-year design studios, exploring ecological architecture in diverse contexts. B.Arch Final Year & M.Arch students also had the privilege of engaging with her one-on-one, gaining valuable insights and inspiration.

A step towards conscious design. A step towards a better future.
