Topic: Geographical Boundaries in Urban Planning
Increased urbanisation has extensively changed the land cover, and studies indicate the recurring changes to urban precipitation patterns and increased flood events due to increased urbanisation. Though with advancements in technology, loss of lives could be contained, flooding poses a serious threat to the urban economy and ecology due to concentrated infrastructure. Administrative boundaries, though, are little helpful in addressing ecological concerns. Hence, the growing relevance of ecological boundaries to understanding urban environmental disasters will be discussed.
