Brief of the topic: Micro region and settlement pattern

Integrated spatial planning in context of land use pattern, infrastructural development and social wellbeing of the demography becomes a major attribute of inculcation for master plans for mega cities and gradually in due course of time, it became pertinent even for tier I and tier II cities with the formation of distinctive development authority and municipal corporations or municipalities for implementation of such master plans. In the consequent process, the question arises regarding the same concerns with respect to the rural or rurban settlements. So, how to assess a settlement pattern ?
